Membership & Joining
How do I join the Skiatook Flying Club?
Complete the membership application at SkiatookFlyingClub.org. Once approved, onboarding and management are handled through Flight Circle. Prospective members are encouraged to attend a meeting.
What are the financial costs and equity details?
• Membership Share: $3,000
• Join Fee: $250 one-time
• Monthly Dues: $100 total ($85 dues + $15 upgrade fund)
• Hourly Rate: $45 dry (fuel separate)
• Other Costs: Members pay for fuel, instruction, and must refuel, hangar, and clean the aircraft after flights.
Can I sell my membership?
Yes. Members may sell their equity share. The seller must find a buyer, and the board must approve the incoming member. The club brokers the transaction and may assist when a waiting list is active.
Are student pilots welcome?
Absolutely. Student pilots at all training stages are welcome.
Scheduling & Operations
How do I schedule the aircraft?
All scheduling, billing, and maintenance tracking are handled through Flight Circle. Only Active Members can shedule the airplane.
How are reservation times structured?
Standard reservations are 3-hour blocks. Longer blocks are allowed with consideration for other members.
Are overnight reservations allowed?
Yes, with prior approval. Overnight trips require a minimum of 2 billable hours per day, which equals 4 hours for a single overnight.
Where is the club based?
Skiatook Municipal Airport (2F6), Skiatook, Oklahoma.
What are the insurance requirements?
Members must meet insurance requirements, hold proper ratings, and complete club checkout procedures. Annual pilot info updates are required.
Flight Instruction & Checkouts
Do you provide flight instruction?
No. The club is not a flight school, deos not employ flight instructors, and does not offer a structured flight training program. Members may receive instruction from CFI-rated members.
Can I bring my own instructor?
Yes. Certificated pilots may bring an independent instructor for currency (such as Biennial Flight Reviews, Instrument Training, or Instrument Proficiency Checks). Student pilots must train with a club-approved instructor unless otherwise approved.
Are club checkouts required?
Yes. Initial checkouts and signoffs must be completed with a club-approved instructor.
Safety & Contact
Do you host safety events?
Yes. The club regularly hosts FAASTeam safety presentations and WINGS credit events.
